Swiss gets serious

Last week we met Swiss of So Solid Crew fame at the launch of his book 'Spot the Difference: Raising you game to reach your full potential". The book is full of practical advice on how young people can work towards a successful career and a more fulfilled life.

Here's a choice cut of what the man had to say..

"(The book) highlights the things that stop us from elevating as young people. It points out different aspects of ourselves that we can focus on and use to fine tune those other things that we may be lacking so we can propel us to go further and do better for ourselves."

"A lot of us as young people were good at being bad, we were good at stealing, good at smoking, good at wasting time. It’s easy to do something when you’re good at it."

Hip Hop History

Brother Khonsu, ex MC of the London Rhyme Syndicate is running a series of lectures in the London College of Communication on the History of Hip Hop. We caught the Golden Age of UK Hip-Hop two weeks ago with Swiss of So Solid Crew speaking about his new book, 'Spot the Difference' (more on that later) which was more educational than your average Saturday afternoon..

The series culminates this Saturday with an open mic event where the audience is invited to take part. It starts at 1pm and is £5 in.

Tic Tac

Last Friday I met the charming Tic Tac. Small and white like his namesake, the 22 year old rapper from Surrey is chin deep in East London's electro-grime-whatever circuits. With his honest rhymes and healthy disrespect for the limitations of genre Tic Tac is making big waves on London's underground music scene.

The full interview is to come in Issue One.
